The fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Total Joint Specialists is a one year immersive clinical fellowship focusing on modern hip and knee Arthroplasty. The program is designed to offer thorough exposure and training for primary as well as revision joint replacement. We offer a wide range of experience with outpatient joint replacement, standard and high complexity joint revision, as well as research opportunities.
Fellows drive an informative weekly x-ray conference where current topics in adult reconstruction and teaching cases are reviewed. Journal club and guest speaker visits also occur regularly throughout the year.
Fellows receive a broad exposure to arthroplasty cases throughout the year. Average fellow cases typically exceed 700 primary replacements and 100 revision cases. Surgeon faculty practice an array of surgical hip approaches, most commonly the anterior approach, both for primary and revision cases. Additionally, the program offers extensive experience with same-day surgery and rapid recovery in a dedicated joint replacement Ambulatory Surgery Center. Revision cases are frequently performed in a hospital setting. Fellows will also gain exposure to current and emerging technologies including various robotic platforms and custom implant design.
The fellowship beings August 1st and ends July 31st of the following year. This is a non ACGME-accredited fellowship position which is available for two fellows each year.

Applicants must have successfully completed an Orthopedic Residency training program and be Board Eligible as well as have the ability to obtain a Georgia medical license and DEA number. Applicants should have also successfully completed all three parts of the USMLE or COMLEX exams.
